Information you provide
- Your name, email address, player icon and account identifier. Passwords are stored as protected password hashes, not readable passwords.
- Golf scores, selected courses and tees, your entered handicap, personal handicap estimates, one-use estimate-credit claims and their dated redemption results, round history, Mayhem games, XP, rewards and preferences.
- Playing partner names and handicaps you enter. These local guests do not receive an account automatically.
- Friend requests, accepted friendships, privacy choices and shared-round rivalry results.
- Verified purchase identifiers, products, status and subscription expiry when purchases are enabled. Payment card details are handled by the payment provider, not stored in the app database.
Location is optional
When you use Premium nearby-course GPS and grant location permission, your current coordinates (which may be precise, depending on your permission settings) are sent to our course lookup service and its HNA course-data endpoint to find nearby courses. Coordinates are used for that request and are not written to our application database or application logs. We do not continuously track you in the background. You can decline location permission and select a course manually. Typed course search, manual handicap entry and ordinary scorecards do not require Premium GPS.
The aerial course map uses Apple Maps by default. Opening it loads map imagery for the selected course from Apple. If the app explicitly enables its Google Maps alternative, the labelled Google map loads imagery from Google instead. Tapping My location starts foreground GPS updates and may load imagery for your current map region from the displayed map provider. A blue marker shows your position and its reported accuracy. Updates stop when you close the map, pause tracking or leave the app; returning requires another My location tap. Live locations are not sent to our application server, written to our database, included in scorecards or shared with other players. Satellite imagery is captured earlier; it is not live video. The displayed map provider’s own Maps terms and privacy policy apply. HNA course data does not mean we are authorised to submit or change an official HNA handicap.
How information is used and shared
We use account and golf data to provide sign-in, scorekeeping, synchronisation, multiplayer games, history, progression and the features you choose. Your name is searchable only after you enable discoverability. Activity comparisons require your activity-sharing choice. Players in your round can see the shared scorecard; private Mayhem cards remain hidden from other players until the game rules reveal them.
Hosting and the application database use Vercel and Neon. Authentication runs through Better Auth on our service. Apple, Google or Payfast may process purchases when their respective checkout is enabled. Service infrastructure processes connection information such as IP addresses, request times and errors for security, rate limits and reliability. These providers may process information outside South Africa.
Advertisements and analytics
No advertising SDK or behavioural advertising tracker is enabled in this build. Advertising requests, ad measurement initialisation and tracking-permission prompts are disabled for this trial. Sponsored promotions, if supplied by an authorised business, are labelled and optional for users with advertising removed. A future advertising integration will require updated disclosures and any applicable consent before activation. We do not sell your personal information.
Storage on your phone
Session cookies support sign-in. App storage keeps settings, cached scorecards and unsynchronised score edits so you can continue with poor connectivity. Shared devices may retain locally saved information until you sign out or clear app/browser storage. Removing the app does not delete the account or cancel an app-store subscription.
Retention, choices and deletion
We retain account and golf records while your account is active to provide history and synchronisation. You can edit your profile and privacy settings and request account deletion in your app profile. The account deletion information page explains what is removed and how to get help. Confirmed deletion removes your login, profile, personal golf history, friendship data, reward claims and app-side purchase access. Your participation is removed from shared saved rounds while other players’ own scores are preserved. A minimal administrative deletion audit retains a one-way account reference and completion time, without your name or email.
Requests are processed manually, with a target of 30 days and confirmation to your account email. Limited backups or records a service provider is legally required to retain may remain subject to that provider’s retention rules. Store billing records are controlled by Apple, Google or Payfast. Cancel any renewing subscription through its store; deleting this app account does not cancel store billing.
Questions and corrections
Contact us to ask about access, correction or deletion of your information. The signed-in request form in the app lets you initiate account deletion without emailing support. If you cannot access your account, contact support for identity verification and help.
